いつぞやNY若手のホープ、ジュリアス・ロドリゲスがミシェル・ンデゲオチェロとこの小さなお店のステージでとんでもない演奏をしている様子をインスタグラムで観て、どうにかして此処に行かなきゃと思ったのが渡米数ヶ月前。1stステージが売り切れという不運もありましたが2時間待った甲斐がありました。この日はお店の共同創設者でもあるリチャード・ジュリアンの新作リリースパーティという幸運。友人でもあるノラ・ジョーンズ同様にフォークとジャズがマリアージュしたユニークなスタイル。酔っ払ってないトム・ウエイツとで言いたくなる味わい深い歌を、ブルックリンの仲間たちが豪華に演出してました。最高！

A few months before touring the US, I saw a clip on Instagram of Julius Rodriguez, a rising star in New York, performing an incredible show with Michelle Ndegeocello at this small venue. I knew I had to go there somehow. Unfortunately, the first show was sold out, but waiting for two hours was well worth it. That day also happened to be, one of the co-founders of the venue, Richard Julian’s album release party, a lucky coincidence. Like his friend Norah Jones, Julian has a unique style that blends folk and jazz. His songs had a rich, soulful quality that reminded me of Tom Waits when he's not drunk, and the Brooklyn crew put on a fantastic performance. It was amazing!
