Miguel Villar Trio

Miguel Villar Trio
"This jazz trio, formed at the Barcelona club Robadors23—a key player in the city’s music scene—is made up of three of the most active musicians on the Barcelona scene.
More than six years ago, they began their acclaimed weekly Wednesday sessions at the club, and thanks to this consistency—more than 300 concerts!—which is rare these days, they have developed a sound all their own: intimate and highly expressive.
Their repertoire is based on classic jazz standards by artists such as Duke Ellington, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Ornette Coleman, and Antonio Carlos Jobim, among others, as well as their own compositions, always rendered in their personal, raw, and direct style.
In August 2016, they released their debut album, titled “Around the Space,” on the Basque label Mosquito Records.
