ARBO
Back when life was still carefree, before the lockdown, Igor Regali—who majored in jazz double bass at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory—presented his new project to the ever-enthusiastic audience at Burtopia, a record store in the Pigneto neighborhood dedicated to all forms of jazz. Accompanying Legari on double bass were Marco Colonna on clarinet and Ermanno Baron on drums. The group was named Arbo Trio—meaning “tree” in Esperanto—and two years later, reunited on the stage of the Casa del Jazz, where they released an album on the Folderol label. What makes this evening’s performance at ARCILIUTO even more special is the participation of Francesco Bigoni (tenor sax). He has just been appointed the new artistic director of Siena Jazz and will expand Arbo’s lineup from a trio to a quartet.
